Houston!

We are HERE!  Houston is HOOOOOOT!  We rolled into town about 6 and it was 99 degrees.  I LOVE IT!  I am not a cold weather fan.....

We took our time getting around yesterday morning even though I woke up before 6!  We had a corner room and the curtains were open just enough that I could look out and see a BEAUTIFUL sunrise.

What a GLORIOUS start to my day!

I tried to look like I was wearing the hat....  Not sure I got it just right, but it's funny!

Pretty waterfall in the hotel lobby

This was on one of the hotel room doors, cracked me up

We drove into Dallas and met up with friends for lunch.  I am always amazed when I go to the big cities at what healthy options are available.  We ate at Salad Stop - you customize your own salad (kind of like Subway for those of us unfamiliar) and it is a BIG salad.  My kind of place!  It was nice to visit for a while and we were so busy chatting that I forgot to take a pic!!!

After lunch, we hit the road to Houston!  It's not much of an exciting drive, but I spent the time reading and Brian drove.  He likes to drive and I'm happy to let him :)

We got checked into the hotel at MD Anderson (Rotary House) and then went out to eat.

Got back to the hotel and decided to stretch our legs and move around a bit.  A very nice couple joined us in the elevator and we were talking, they were going out for a walk too, so we walked together.  They are from British Columbia and Martin is here for 2 very rare cancers that they found when taking out his appendix. One type is  so rare that only 11 people in all of Canada have the cancer.  I'll definitely be keeping him in my prayers.  We enjoyed a nice evening walk - it wasn't unbearably hot and found some interesting sites and had a good conversation.  It is always good to talk with people that are in the same situation and understand what you are going through.

Today we have a few things on the schedule and are planning on some fun time as well.  Who knows what kind of trouble we can get into!

As for my reset - DAY 20 eating:

My $10 breakfast at the hotel..... geez

big ol' salad with LOTS of veggies

my green drink - afternoon pick me up!

Dinner - grilled veggies, beans and rice and guacamole

Oh and kids - don't forget to check the pool, pretty please!
