This week is going to FLY by!

Goodness, I am just now getting to sit down for a minute.   It's been a busy day to say the least, but I know that my whole week is going to be that way and it is going to fly by!

Started my morning off with my shake - I really need to get to the store because I am completely out of fruit.  So, it was just a plain ol' peanut butter shakeology - I forget how wonderful that tastes!!!  Just like a Reese's Cup.

Workout this morning was TurboFire Fire 30 and ChaLEAN Extreme Burn Circuit 1.  Then I hit the ground running.  We are getting taxes ready for the accountant to finish up, then we rented a duplex, we ran errands, and then I was starving.

Lunch was a big salad with veggies and hummus and balsamic vinegarette and some portabello chili with a couple of crackers.

I love soups and chilis.  I could eat it everyday.  Maybe I will for a while... mmmmm, broccoli soup is sounding pretty good for tomorrow....

Then we were off again......   I had a phone call for Beachbody work and got my homework and then just got it done.  I really decided that if it was going to get done, I needed to do it right away.  So, it is DONE!

Then it was more errands and dinner - another shake.  This time I made the chocolate bee - it was so good.  I will definitely make it again.  Chocolate shakeology, 1 tbsp almond butter and 1 tsp honey.  Delish!

A girlfriend came over and we did a little shopping.  I got the tablecloths and napkins for the big shindig at my house on Thursday!  We are hosting the rehearsal dinner, it's going to be laid back, thank goodness, but I still want it to be very nice for Nick and Lauren.  A trip with a girlfriend just isn't the same without a stop at the bookstore.  I love bookstores.  I could be in there forever, however, I felt like I was cheating on the kindle a bit.....  I didn't buy anything.  I have gotten so MANY free books lately that I don't need anything else right now.  But I love to browse and get some good ideas.  AND I had a great decaf ginger peach tea!

We always have a great time - check out this hat I found
No, I didn't buy it.  I may regret that decision later.....  nah.....

So, now I'm sitting down for a few, watching the Real Housewives and getting this blog post done.  My goal is to post every day this week, I hope I can meet that goal!  I'll do my best!

Countdown is on....

Hard work is paying off!

Wow, it's been another busy day.  I started off waking up feeling refreshed, I LOVE that!!  Doesn't happen very often for me!!!

I had my shakeology - chocolate with peanut butter and honey

and then did my workout - Turbofire Core 20 and Stretch 40.  I love both of those.  I needed that stretch......

Then it was on the run for the rest of the day.  I had a dentist appt, hair appt and lunch with Brian and Nick.  I had the BEST salad, it was a build your own.  I ordered it with everything but no meat or cheese.  This is what I got!  Amazing!

I had to get one of my Turbofire workouts polished, it kept skipping and was annoying me, so I'm hoping that this will work!  I'll find out in the morning!!

Brian and I ran errands and I was STARVING, we got home and I had my fruit for snack and then I did my afternoon workout - Burn Circuit 2 from ChaLEAN Extreme.  I can't believe how much I was sweating by just lifting weights  - go heavy or go home!!!

It seems to be working, the scale is going down and I feel so much lighter.  YAY!  All this hard work is paying off!

Then I had my second shake for the day - Brian got to pick the flavor - big surprise - peanut butter and banana.....

I've been on the treadmill to get the last of my steps in and I have read my book, watched some football and been on a training call.

This wedding is causing me to get some things done and it is a good thing!  We are on the countdown!!!   9 DAYS!!!

It's a birthday weekend!

I had the best time on my birthday!

It started with a killer workout with a friend (TurboFire HIIT 30) and I really ninja-kicked those sumo burpees, calories were burned like crazy and I was sweating buckets!  Loved it!!!

Then I HAD to take half of Brian's massage.  He overbooked himself and someone had to suffer through it!!!  It was glorious!

Lunch with Brian and friends was great AND Danny bought our lunch, he's such a great guy!!

I went to run a few errands and then because I broke/chipped my tooth, I was fortunate enough to get into the dentist.  Not many people look forward to a dentist appointment, especially on your birthday, but I was so glad.  He got me fixed up in a hurry and I was on my way.....

Brian and the kids took me to dinner.  We went to the Japanese Steakhouse and it was delicious as usual.  Madelyn did NOT like the fire.  She was a bit scared after that anytime the chef would produce smoke.  She even told me that she didn't like it at all!  I think she was relieved when we left.

Then on a spur of the moment decision - Brian asked if anyone had cake and the answer was no, so we went to Orange Leaf!

I had to share my gift of new sunglasses that I got, I  had tossed them in my purse and this is what I pulled out.....

Madelyn thought they were a LOT of fun!

When we got to the lake, our friends were here to greet us and let us know that they had missed us....

The last time we were here (4th of July), the babies had their spots still.  They are growing up so fast LOL!!

It's been such a strange summer for us, I have missed our lake time.  Usually we spend a lot of time here, but i think we've been here 3-4 times this summer.  That makes me sad, but I'm going to enjoy the time we have now!

We have friends staying with us and today a LOT of friends are coming down to enjoy the lake with us!  I can NOT wait!!

We are going to have a big bbq ( I am making Mama Pea's black bean burgers - YUM!) and there will be boating, swimming, tubing and who knows what else.  Last night there was a bit of a QUEEN sing-a-long!!!

I brought my workouts, but didnt' do one yesterday.  I have been having some vertigo and just didn't feel good.  I'm feeling so much better today and ready to do something this morning!  I am bummed that I missed yesterday since I had to take my rest day earlier in the week.  Not sure how I am going to make it up, but I'll figure something out!

So, I better get going now and get started  on this fun party!  Hope you all enjoy your day, find some joy in the little things you do!!!

REMINDER:  You only have until Sept 5 to pre-order your P90X2.  I got mine ordered, got the Ultimate package so I could get the spiky foam roller.  I am so excited about it.  If you have any questions, let me know!

Fit Club Tuesday!

FIT CLUB TUESDAY!!!

It's another Tuesday!!!  We are still celebrating the BEST of Chalene Johnson.  This means that we are doing my favorite workouts from Turbo Jam, ChaLEAN Extreme and TurboFire!  These are my favorite workouts and of course I love sharing them with you!

Tonight we are doing either Dynamic Flow Yoga from ChaLEAN Extreme or 3T from Turbo Jam and HIIT 15 from TurboFire.  It's going to depend on how many show up and what I feel like doing.......bwaaa haa haaa!!

This morning I did my workout.  I am doing the CE/TF rotation and loving every minute of it.  I did Burn it Off and Extreme Abs.  I am pretty sure I'll be feeling that one tomorrow morning!  I was dripping sweat everywhere!

FIT CLUB RECIPE:

I want to share this SUPER Easy recipe from fitnessista.com for protein cookie balls!  She calls them amaze balls and I AGREE!!

So easy to make, I made just a few small changes, but want to make sure she gets the credit for the recipe!

AMAZEBALLS

So I made these last night with the thought in mind for the post today.  However, they were gone before I could take a photo.  You'll just have to trust me that these are THAT good!  I'll make another batch and get the photo before I allow Brian anywhere near them!

2 T vanilla or chocolate protein powder ( I like Sun Warrior or SHAKEOLOGY, my first choice)
2 T almond or natural peanut butter
2 T shredded coconut (unsweetend is best)
1 T pure maple syrup or honey or brown rice syrup
pinch of sea salt, Stevia and cinnamon

1. In your food processor, add the protein powder, almond butter, coconut, and pulse until the ingredients are mixed

2.  Add the cinnmon, sea salt, Stevia and Sweetener and pulse again.  Mix will start to clump together

3.  Add in chocolate chips ( I really like the Enjoy Life Semi Sweet Mega Chunks), dried fruit (cranberries are yummy) or any other things you'd like (butterscotch chips are yummy, but not as healthy)  Pulse again to chop up the chocolate chips and whatever you've added in.

4.  Roll mixture into balls.  I like them smaller, but you can make them to your preference.

Save in a ziploc baggie and munch for a perfect pre or post workout snack!  Yummy and Healthy!

Fit Club Recipe:

I had a GREAT strawberry salad yesterday and decided to look for a recipe similar to share with you all.  I found this one in my cookbook collection:

Spinach and Strawberry Salad - Paula Deen (Paula Deen Celebrates)

1 10-12 oz pkg baby spinach, washed and dried
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
1 pint strawberries, hulled and quartered
1/2 med cucumber, peeled, seeded and finely diced

Dressing:
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp white wine vinegar
1/3 c sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp poppy seeds

1.  In a large salad bowl, toss together the spinach, almonds, strawberries and cucumber.  In a small glass dish or jar with a tight fitting lid, combine the emon juice, vinegar, sugar, oil and poppy seeds.  Whisk in the glass dish or shake if using a jar.

2. Dress the salad right before serving.

Serves 8-10

Super Saturday

We had a BLAST at the Beachbody National Super Saturday Event today!

I hosted this event with Leah Redling and we shared the info from corporate.

Then we got to the workout!  TurboFire HIIT 20!  We had sweat rolling and just had a great time!

I showed the modified moves and Leah got down to business!

After the workout we tasted Shakeology ( Lemonana and PB&J) and just enjoyed visiting with other friends that are ready to help end the trend of obesity in our nation!

I can't wait for our next quarterly event!  Tentatively scheduled for June.  Hope you can make it to the next one!  It's sure to be another GREAT time!

Healthy Habits!

boIt is so good to be home, getting back into a routine and back to my good health habits!

Brian and I enjoyed our walks every day on vacation, so we have decided to continue those now that we are home.  We walked first thing this morning (wishing we were still walking on the beach) and then had our shake and after a little digesting, I did my TurboFire/ChaLEAN workout for the day.  Stretch 40. This is JUST what I needed today. My body is so tight and a little sore from all the sitting we did over the last two days in the car!

So, my new routine is as follows:

1)  Walking with Brian once or twice per day.  This will help me to get my steps in daily as well as having the best walking partner!!

2)  Following the TurboFire/ ChaLEAN Extreme workout routine.  This will allow me to get the best of both worlds - cardio and weight training!  I need weights back in my life!

Chalene Johnson inspires me!  I need that positivity in my life!!

3)  Eat clean.  I will be focusing on veggies and fruits.  Atleast one Shakeology per day and hopefully a green drink per day as well.  No processed foods, less eating out, less alcohol.

4)  Move - I need to move more thoughout the day.  I think the plan I have is going to work!!

I am so ready to establish my new healthy habits!  If you want to join in with me, please feel free.  Sign up for a free account (if you don't already have one) at my website and then we can get you started on the right foot!  Free Fitness Coaching?, yes please!!!

Discussion:  Do you have a plan in place?  I really think that makes all the difference in the world!

Holiday shopping and workout schedule

The cold continues and it is so tempting to just stay inside and bundle up on the couch, however, that isn't a great idea.  I am planning on doing a LOT of shopping today.   I haven't really started Christmas shopping yet.  I'm usually done by this time, but I just don't have the Christmas spirit yet!  Anyone else feel that way?  It just doesn't seem like it should be Christmas time.  I've put the tree up, got the stockings hung, but it still isn't quite there for me.  So today I am going to get my shopping finished.  I can wrap presents this week and have a little time to relax before the big day!

I've got my list, checked it twice and ready to go!

I am going to start my TurboFire and P90X rotation again.  I skipped so many workouts with my neck issue (it's still flared up, we'll just have to see how it goes).

Monday - Turbo Fire cardio & abs
Tuesday - anything goes - fit club
Wednesday - P90X weight workout
Thursday - Turbo Fire Cardio & abs
Friday - P90X weight workout
Saturday - Turbo Fire cardio & abs
Sunday - yoga/stretch

I think it will be a good fit for me.  I love my TurboFire, but want to continue with weighted workouts.  It's the best of both worlds!

Feel free to join in.  Of course, we still have the 100 pushups per day challenge going on the message boards.  Jump in anytime.  There will be a prize for the winner - I have a cool cookbook or a workout for you if you do the most pushups!

Discussion:  Are you done with your shopping?  Do you have a workout routine planned out through the holidays?
