New dress = new shoes!

Since there is a wedding, there is a need for a new dress, right?

Brian and I took off yesterday and stopped in Tulsa (didn't make it tooo far), but it is so fun in T-Town!

We stayed at the Hard Rock!

A little shopping resulted in a new dress for me, new shirt for BP!  He got a MUCH better deal than I did, but I am thrilled with my dress.  Can't wait to show it off!  It's ORANGE!  I'm not really much of a "shopper", I'm more of a buyer.  Get in, get it and get out! LOL!  But, that was not the case yesterday.  I had to do a little looking....

Now I'm on the hunt for shoes, because as you know, new dress = new shoes....

I'm looking for some cute strappy sandals, maybe floral....

We are meeting up with Mom and Dad today in OKC!  I am so excited to get to spend some time with them.  Just not enough time spent with them AT ALL!

More excitement to come!  Enjoy your Saturday!

really, really beautiful

I hope you had a fantastic 4th.  We had a blast! (pun intended...)

I'm having more computer issues, so I may not be able to post as much as I would like, hopefully it will be resolved soon.

I finally got the mouse issue resolved and now I am having memory problems. GEEZ, enough already.  I put a call in to my favorite computer guy and hoping that he will be able to fix me up!

The holiday went by WAY to quickly for me, but we are back to our regularly scheduled programming today!

Tuesday night we headed to the lake and met up with friends and family for a fun night of fireworks on the lake. " It was beautiful, really, really beautiful."  quote from my Madelyn...

Mads is not feeling well and she watched the fireworks in between taking little snoozes.  She wasn't a big fan of the loud noises, but surprise of all surprises, she like the pink and purple ones best....  She did get to hang with Cole again and they had fun swimming and being on the boat.

Me and my badazz sunglasses :)

Most of my boys....

back of the boat - troublemakers

front of the boat - more troublemakers

Wednesday, we hung out at the lakehouse as long as we could and then headed back to the house for a family fun night.  Dinner and fireworks!  Chase cooked the food,

some of it was dropped.... of course, he would drop the veggies..... never fear, he didn't drop them all!

Mads is still not feeling well, but she was a trooper and hung in there with us.  She didn't love the fireworks, she's over it already!  She did like the "turtle" fireworks best.

Chase had a flat tire when all the fun was over, so he and Jake had a chore to take care of

It was a good day and I am so thankful for all those that serve and protect our country.  A HUGE THANK YOU to each and every one of you past and present.  Especially my baby brother!

10 things....

I had a busy day of just getting things done yesterday.  Not much excitement, but a lot of things were crossed off the ol' to-do list!  I love that!

I am going to get back to my journaling.  I like to list my food intake, water intake, to-do list, gratitude statement and anything else that I feel like writing down for the day.  I got out of that habit last year after the tornado and I am going to get back into that habit!  I just do better when I keep it all down.  Plus, writing down what you are grateful for each and every day just makes me happy!

I saw a show today when I was flipping through the channels called 10 Things that Make Me Happy.  I decided that I needed to keep that in mind every day!

So here goes:

1.  My family!

2.  Traveling - Brian and I try to travel as much as possible!  We haven't been able to go as much as we would like this year, but we are planning some fun trips soon!

3.  Eating healthy - yes, it makes me happy to eat healthy!  I feel better, I look better and I sleep better.  This makes me happy!  Love the farmer's market in the summer!  I may have to move to a different climate so I can have wonderful, fresh produce every single day!

4.  Exercise - again, yes, it makes me happy to exercise.  Talk about feel good endorphins!  I just started Turbo Fire and it is one of my favorite workouts of all time!  The music comes on and you can't help but start moving!  I just finished a round of Brazil Butt Lift with Leandro.  He is sooo fun!

5.  The sunshine - I love the warmer weather and being out in the sun!  Brian and I take the tops out of the Jeep as often as possible!

6.  Flowers - I think I'm seeing a trend here!  What is not to love about flowers and happiness?

7.  My new sunglasses - yes, I am badass enough to wear cheap sunglasses with a skull and crossbones all blinged out.....

8.  Music - music always puts me in a good mood.  Dancing around does the same, but it always comes back to the music.  Lately, I've been enjoying a little Kenny Chesney!  Oooh la la!

9.  My kindle - I LOVE to read and always have a book going.  My only problem with it is that I have such a hard time deciding which book to read, so I am reading through the alphabet.  I picked one book per letter of the alphabet and am reading them in order.  It's a fun way to choose what to read.  I'm up to "I".  Currently reading  - Irreparable Harm by Melissa F. Miller.  OH, if you have a kindle or the kindle app, you certainly need to know about Pixel of Ink.  Check them out online or on facebook!

10.  Last, but certainly not least - my friends......  Oh they fun we have.....

Wow, that went by fast, I could keep going.  I feel very blessed!

What are some things you are happy for?

It's the little things....

I have to say, it's the little things in life that make me happy and sooo grateful!  Don't get me wrong, the big things are certainly good too, but I enjoyed the weekend with the little things.....

Having most of the family together at the lake to help get the in-laws house cleaned out so they can sell it.  It was hot and nobody likes moving, but with all of us helping it went by quickly.  The house is ready to be cleaned and shown.....

If you know anyone looking for a beautiful lake home in Oklahoma, send them my way!

We spent a lot of time, just relaxing.  Nothing better than that.  We were on the deck enjoying the breeze and the sounds of nature around us, and Brian had a friend show up.

This butterfly stayed on his leg for about 10 minutes.  How cool is that?

We saw the baby deer, but it ran through the yard so quickly, I couldn't get  a photo.  Jake and his friend Will, had their dogs with them and they were a bit noisy and the deer didn't like it one bit!

Jake even put a life jacket ( a regular, human one) on Hurley so he could swim easier.  It was funny, again, no camera at that time....

I did manage to get a quick nap in the hammock chair.  That was lovely!

So, it was just a boring old weekend, but I'll take it !

I've started a new challenge for my fitness/health accountability group.  If you want to join in the fun on the WHOLE challenge, hit me up on facebook and I will get you added to the group.  If you just want to play along with the fun stuff, join us in the 100 pushups per day challenge.....  don't panic, it's only 1 week.  You can do the pushups however you want, knees, toes, against a counter or wall.  Just do them!

I hope you have a day of wonderful little things today!

a berry pickin' good time!

I started the day off EARLY, on my way with my good buddy to pick some berries!  I LOVE berries of any kind, but blackberries are one of my favorites!

Brenda's Berries is a wonderful place to pick - no chiggers, no thorns!  My kind of berry pickin'!

The berries were just a bit juicy!  I had it on my shirt, my hands, down my leg - everywhere! Luckily it washed off easily!  But, I am sure that I looked a mess going into the coffee shop on our way home!

I also got a bunch of peaches and didn't even have to pick them.

Can you say cobbler, jam, grilled, sliced, oh, there are so many ways to eat them!

Madelyn, Meredith, Jake and Morgan stopped by for a swim and a visit.

Then it was time for a workout - Brazil Butt Lift, here I come, and friends for dinner and a swim.

No photos of the friend-filled evening, but we had a blast.  Quinoa salad, homemade guacamole, salsa, chips and Hermina made a delicious peach pie and we had peanut butter ice cream to go along with it!

Brian was out of town with his dad and a friend fishing.  I'll be glad when he gets home today!

I haven't seen the hawks again, but I've been keeping an eye out for them.    I've been taking the camera out with me in hopes they will be around again.

Praying for all my friends in Colorado Springs.  Brian and I have been there on vacation the last two years and have fallen in love with the place.

A lot of steps!

I did a LOT of stepping yesterday....

I challenged my sister in sweat, Marsha, to a 100 floor climb day!  The most I had ever done was 50, so this was a great challenge for me!

Glad to say that we both kicked butt!

My fitbit page showed I had climbed the Nureck Dam!!

In between all the stepping and stair climbing, I managed to get my toenails painted.  They turned out pretty cute even if I do say so myself....

I am loving the turquoise for sure!

I also found some time to make vegan hot fudge sauce.  My sweet tooth has been mis-behaving like crazy lately.  But, when I saw this recipe, I knew I HAD to make it and try it!

It took me about 10 minutes from start to finish to make this.  I found the recipe online.
Fast Hot Fudge Sauce

1 cup sugar

6 tablespoons cocoa

3 tablespoons cornstarch

1 cup hot water

3 tablespoons butter (I used margarine w/ no problems) - I used Earth Balance

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:

1 Stir everything together in a pot.

2 Bring to a boil, stirring occassionally.

3 Enjoy.

AND Enjoy it we did!  I had a hot fudge milkshake made with So Delicious Coconut milk ice cream and it was WONDERFUL!!!!  Brian had a chocolate hot fudge shake and was in heaven :) He's more of a choc-o-holic than I am!!

I will definitely make this recipe again!!!

I didn't get any photos, but never fear, there WILL be another chance for a photo opp!

Today has been a full day - Brian is off for a guy's fishing trip and I have been picking, cooking, and getting ready for my workout.  A swim with friends and  I'm also thinking that I'll be watching this too!

Sounds like a good night to me!
