Crazy Days and kale krisps

I have so many things to get accomplished before the family arrives for Christmas! I am so excited to see them, but sooo far behind. I need to clean, cook, wrap and bake. I have to plan out the meals and get the food shopping done. Oh goodness, it seems a bit overwhelming to write it down like that. I know that it won't matter to my family if the house is a bit cluttered and the floor needs to be mopped, but I like things to be just so. We are watching Madelyn today and while she naps, I've been wrapping presents. Going to take Brian to physical Therapy, come home to workout with my friends and then get busy!

One thing that I have found is that I need to eat frequently to keep my energy levels up! I have found one of my new favorite treats -Kale Krisps! These are a unique treat and I love them. It may not be something you are used to eating, but oh so tasty! I LOVED the Maple Coconut and the Apple Nut. The Sesame and Creamy Garlic were also good. I have been snacking on these for a couple of weeks now and of course, I had to share them to see what everyone else thought. Chase really liked the garlic, Meredith didn't like any of them, Brian thought they tasted like seaweed. I think he was put off by the green. My workout buddies, Brian H, Jason and Kristi liked them all. They all agreed that the favorite was the maple coconut.

Kale Krisps are a great way to eat your greens!

Jungle Treats Kale Krisps were featured in the december issue of Shape Magazine (page 40!) They are coming out with a new flavor - Cheezy!! I think it might be a new favorite for me :)

Kale Krisps are vegan, kosher and gluten free. Order some today online, give them a try and know that this new and tasty snack is good for you!

What is your favorite way to eat your greens? Do you also feel that you need to eat smaller meals more often or are you the type of person that prefers to eat 3 meals per day with no snacks?

Dream Big Toy Company has the cutest dolls and I couldn't wait to get my hands on one to give to my beautiful neice. She plays soccer and when I saw these, I knew that she would love it!

Save your world

I love trying out new beauty products and Save Your World sent me some great products to try!

Save Your World is a wonderful company! Not only do they have some great products, they also save the world!! Every product that we purchase equal 1 acre of rainforest that is saved for one year. How awesome is that? You get to have great products and help save the earth at the same time!

I found this great quote on the Save Your World website:

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors;
we borrow it from our children.
- Native American Proverb
I tried the Save Your Hair shampoo and conditioner in the oasis fruit and rainforest flavors. I loved the oasis fruit. The rainforest smelled a little like men's cologne to me. That is not a bad thing, just what it reminded me of.

Save Your Body lotion in pure mist has a nice light fragrance and feels good. It isn't greasy and really moisturized my skin. I have pretty dry skin in the winter months, seems I can't get enough fluids. I also tried the Save Your Body exfoliating and moisturizing bar in regal blossom and I liked it.

My favorite product was the lip balm. I'm a bit of a lip balm addict. So, I really like a good balm. I used the grapefruit mango. I'm all about the citrus you know... The lip balm is made with coconut oil, mango and antioxidents.

Illuminate Your Life

I love yoga! It is so calming and centering for me. I have been hooked for several years now and try to incorporate it into my workout routine atleast a couple of times per week. It may just be a few sun salutations in the morning or a full blown yoga workout. I do like to know that I've worked out, so I like my yoga to be challenging.

One thing that you need when doing yoga is a GREAT yoga mat. I found Aurorae Yoga Mats and have fallen in yoga love!! These mats are extra thick and extra long (72") so that you don't have your arms or feet hanging off the ends when doing stretches. They are durable and it also has a great focal point so that you keep your neck in neutral spine and keep your concentration in line as well. This really helps to get the postures correct.

Aurorae Yoga Mats come in 5 different colors so you can pick the one that best suits your personality.

The yoga mat colors are:

Violet - Spiritual, soothing, calming, telepathic, healing, relief and meditative

Seamist - Soothing, renewal, intellect, nature, self control, gentile and harmony

Solar - Creative, inspiring, energy, compassionate, warmth, family and stability
Ocean - Relaxation, sedate, caring, cooking, spirit, trustworthy and attentive

Infinity - Strength, sophistication, professionalism, potential of endless possibilities

I have the Solar mat and love it!

The wonderful people at Aurorae Yoga have offered to host a giveaway!! YAY!! One of you lucky readers can win the mat of your choice.

Here's how to enter:

Enjoy Life

I'm not a huge cereal eater, I usually have a shake for breakfast. I recently had the good fortune to try the Enjoy Life cereals. These are pretty good! They are crunchy similar to grape nuts and had a nice flavor to them. They are not too sweet, which is good. I don't like to eat a really sweet cereal. I tried the Perky's Crunchy Flax and the Perky's Crunchy Rice.

Enjoy Life has all kinds of products to try! Cookies, granola, snack bars, bagels, trail mixes, chocolate chips and chocolate bars. All of the Enjoy Life products are allergy free. Good for people that have gluten intolerances or nut allergies!

Good News!

Yesterday Brian had his checkup with the ortho doc in Springfield. We left with hopes that the crutches would be going bye-bye, just like last time. No pictures this time, Brian said it's a little disappointing to see how hopeful he is only to be sorry later. Oh well, I tried. This is his pity party, not mine, I guess I'll play by his rules.

We got to Springfield in time to enjoy a little lunch. It seems that we always eat at Zio's when we go there and it was good! I love their bread and the dipping oil! YUM!

We finished up in time to head over to the dr's office. It wasn't very crowded and in no time we were talking to him and looking at the x-rays. For those of you that don't know, Brian was in a motorcycle accident on July 31. He broke both his legs, his hand and had a few internal injuries. The doc was happy with his left leg (broken femur) and told him he could start putting full weight on it as tolerated and get off the crutches in 2-3 weeks. Brian proceeded to tell him that he'd probably be off the crutches in a week. He thinks he can do everything faster ( might be why he had the accident??? just sayin')

We stopped at Akins for a few items. I have to say that I was disappointed in Akins. They didn't have 3 of the things I wanted and when you have to drive all that way, I just expect they should have it. Not fair of me I know, but it is what it is!

We headed home and last night Brian took a few steps without the crutches. His leg is weak and sore when he walks, but he did it!

So, now we just wait for the right leg to finish healing. The doc told us that it is looking like another procedure is needed, but we'll be waiting until after the new year begins.

Element Custom Energy Bars

Since we are on the topic of protein bars, I can't forget to mention one of my favorites. Element Bars are so good! These bars are vegan and very tasty! I didn't share this one at all. Now, granted I had only one, but I grabbed this one as Brian and I were headed out the door and I was starving. I had just finished working out and had to take Brian somewhere (can't even remember where we were going!) In the car, I kept telling Brian how good it was. I did offer him one bite, but he said he wasn't hungry and I wasn't going to argue with him! I think I may be getting a little stingy in my old age :)

Element Bars are customizable. If you want more fiber or protein, head over to their website and create your own. I had the Crispy Cranberry and can highly recommend it! It has antioxidents, heart power, GI power and they are all natural. Another cool thing about Element Bars is that you can name your bar after you create it! I could have a Feeling Fit with Dana bar! That is sooo fun!!

If you have someone on your Christmas list that is a fitness freak like me, be sure to order some of these for them! They will love it. Get your order in today for delivery by 12-24!!! You can also save 15% by placing your order and get 30 of their popular bars for $30. If you re-name them it does add to the price, so keep that in mind.

You can't go wrong with an Element Bar!
