Think you have no time?

One of the resons I hear for not being able to workout is no time.  I think that if you are comitted to working out, you will find the time, but I understand how life gets in the way.  I had this happen yesterday.  I had so much office work I HAD to get done, that I didn't workout first thing in the morning like I usually do.  So it was 4:00 PM and I still hadn't worked out.  I was seriously trying to come up with reasons not to.  I didn't feel like it, I was tired, I had been working all day long.  I hadn't done my blog post, the list goes on and on.  But, I made myself get up and get it done.  I did do a shorter workout, but I got it done.  So, it has to become a priority!  I really do think that if you get it done first thing in the morning, there is less chance of something preventing it from happening later.

My friend, Lee is a great example of finding the time.  A mom of 4!!!  Talk about busy, plus she is a very successful Beachbody coach.  She is getting things done!  I got to spend some time with her in San Diego and she is just a doll!!!

Check out her video:

Want to be a Beachbody coach?  Email me for details!  I'm looking for excited people that want to get fit and healthy themselves and help others do the same!

Thank you so much for the feedback from yesterday.  Please keep it coming.  It helps me to figure out what you want to see and read about!

a new direction?

I have been in my office working away all day.  Didn't even get to my workout until after 4 PM.  I just needed to get my work done!!!  But, I got the workout in.  I've eaten clean today and things are clocking along.  Until I realized that I hadn't done my blog post yet.

I've been really thinking about my blog and what way I want to go with it.  I haven't really felt that I am on track lately with my posting.

So, I would LOVE to have some feedback.  What do you, as a reader, want to see?  Same thing?  Something different?  Let me know about a new direction and if I need one!!!!

So, I want to share with you some of the fun we had this weekend!

My dear friend Robin came to the lake this weekend to see us and hang out!!

It was a weekend of visitors.  These guys greeted us when we got to the lake and came to say hello every morning!

The babies still have their spots.  So cute!

Brian and I had a great time and it was nice to have a little time alone!!

Discussion:  Please be sure to let me know about the blog.  Be honest!!!

Fit Club Monday

I am finally home and have my internet back.  As much fun as we had at the lake, I am glad to be home.  I have a busy week ahead and need to get back to my regular workout schedule!  I finished the 5 day Inferno Plan, but I did have a slip up over the weekend, so I plan to re-do day 5 tomorrow!!

Fit Club Workout:

Brazil Butt Lift

I got to workout with Leandro at the Beachbody Summit.  This is not an easy workout, but you will get great results!

Trainer to world-famous supermodels, Leandro Carvalho combines Brazilian dance, cardio, and his own signature lower-body sculpting moves to lift, firm, and shape your behind for a rear view you've only dreamed about.

Fit Club Recipe:

Healthier Fried Rice

In a saute pan - 1 tbsp or so of olive oil, add in the veggies you like - ( onion, carrots, bell pepper, broccoli , cauliflower - whatever you have on hand), saute until cooked tender-crisp

Add in some tomatoes and pineapple chunks and cook until the tomatoes soften a bit.Add in tofu ( I like to pre-cook mine with a little soy sauce)  Then stir in about 1 cup of cooked brown rice.  Add in 1 cup coconut milk ( you can use light if you want), soy sauce and curry powder to taste. Cook to desired crispness.

Add chopped cashews on top to add a little crunch.  Very tasty!

If you are a meat-eater, add in chicken or shrimp that is already cooked and scramble in one egg if you want!
Enjoy!

labor day mishaps!

So sorry for being MIA this weekend.  When we got to the lake, the internet service is down and there isn't anything that can be done about it until Tuesday of course.

We are having a great time here, friends, family and fun!

I'll be back tomorrow sometime with my usual posts!

Have a great weekend yourself!

labor day weekend - summer blowout!

Whoo-hoo for a 3 day weekend!  Do you have big plans?   We are going to the lake, friends coming on Saturday and then family on Sunday!  I love the summer and am so sad that it is coming to an end.

The challenge is going along really well.  I didn't want to work out this morning.  I was really tired, even though I slept good.  I feel like I am fighting a bug of some sort. I don't feel bad, just extremely tired.  BUT, I got up and did my workout.  I was glad I had done it. That is one thing I NEVER regret!

Do you like to eat before your workout or are you like me and like to workout on an empty stomach?  I seem to get heartburn if I eat before working out.  I also like getting my workout done first thing in the morning.  It makes my day go by so much better!  I have more energy and I know that I don't be too busy and have things come up that prevent me from getting that workout done.  However, as soon as my workout is over, I have my shakeology!  Today, the meal plan called for cottage cheese and pineapple.  That wasn't going to happen, so I had my shake for breakfast.  That is my favorite meal to have the shake.  So, since I am off the meal plan today, I'll probably have a fruit smoothie for my snack.  You have to make this meal plan work for you.  If you don't you won't succeed.

I am taking my Turbo Fire DVD's to the lake and will be working out there as well.  I am going to make sure that I do everything I possibly can to finish this challenge and get the best results!!  Join us on the message boards and help to keep me motivated to do my best!  I'd love to see you there!.

I'll be posting photos of all the fun we have this weekend!  No matter where we go or what we do, we have a good time.  I make sure of that.  It's all in your mindset.  Just decide that you are going to be happy!

motivation matters

What truly motivates you to do something?  Money?  Rewards?  Fear?  Praise?  Acceptance?  Power?

Everyone is motivated by something different and in my case, my goals don't always have the same motivator.  So the big question is how to get motivated to do something.  In this case, let's focus on getting healthy.  We all know what we need to do, so why is it easier for some people?

I find that in my fitness and health goals I want to feel, look and even sleep better.  I want to be able to fit into my clothes comfortably, have incredible energy and get a great night's sleep.  All of these are attainable with my workout and clean eating regime.

So, I start off every challenge full of gusto and ready to go, but a lot of times, my motivation lacks and I want to have fun.  Then one little slip turns into a full week off and then it is really easy to just give up.

I am determined to make it the full month with my challenge of working out daily, eating clean daily and getting great results.  What makes this one time any different?  Nothing really.  I just want to be able to accomplish this goal and share it all here with you.  So, I guess my motivator this time might be pride?  Prove to someone else that I CAN do it?

I also find that if I put it out there for you all to read and see, then I am more motivated to stick with it!

What do you do to keep motivated to stay on track.  This can be with any goal you have in mind.  I've been a little flighty lately, so I have to prove to myself that I can do this.  I WILL do this!

Share your goals here and what motivates you to stick with it.  Let's all put it out there and reach those goals.  It can be anything, doesn't have to be fitness related!  Please share!!

a very blessed birthday

Well, today is my 45th birthday.  Don't feel sorry for me, I don't!  Age is just a number and I don't feel old at all!  In fact, I am aging backwards!!! (Don't spoil my dream world for today :0)

So, I get up this morning and have over 50 birthday greetings on facebook.  Many more have come through already.Emails greetings from friends as well,  I have a wonderful voice mail from my dear friend singing happy birthday to me, my son, Jake tells me happy birthday and gives me a huge hug and kiss and of course Brian wishes me happy birthday as well.

I have my Miss Madelyn today and she is full of kisses ( thankfully, she is taking a nap right now so I can get a little work done!) and leading me all over the house.  There is nothing better than that.  I'll have Brian take some special birthday photos!

I am so blessed to have so many caring friends and family!  I want to thank each and every one of you!

I looked up the #1 song on the day I was born.  Help! by the Beatles.  Not the best workout song, so I thought I'll look up my theme song ( the #1 song on the day you turned 18). Sweet Dreams are made of these by the Eurthymics.  Again, not the best workout song.  So, I guess I'm on my own!!!

Dinner tonight with the family!  Can not wait!  I told them I didn't care what we did or where we went as long as I don't have to cook or clean :) and they are all with me!  Best evah!

I have so many blessings it will be hard to count them all, but you can rest assured I will be today!

Today starts the challenge!  Join me for a month of clean eating and working out!  It will be fun to know you have an accountibility partner (me!) and just think of the results we will have at the end of the month, who knows, we may decide to go another month!!!
