Plan B weekend

So, we got up this morning to a wonderful (rolleyes) story about the levels of the blue green algae in Grand Lake in the Tulsa World newspaper.  Evidently the levels are dangerously high and if you come into contact with the water, you have a chance of getting sick.  I think I'll not take my chances, thank you very much!

Now we are trying to come up with a plan B.  Wiffle ball, board games, eating (s'mores anyone?) and drinking will all be in order.

We don't have much of a crowd today, but tomorrow is another story.  We'll see who is brave enough to take their chances. My nephew just took off in the boat to go to Dripping Springs and jump off the cliffs.  I'll see how they feel later tonight or tomorrow.  They are young and said the story was overrated. Oh, youth is wasted on the young.....

The lake is usually so crowded and loud on the 4th of July, we have seen 3 boats and 2 wave runners.  It's unusally quiet.

Rollin' with Plan B

It's been a day.  I had planned to be in the office working all morning, a conference call and then heading to the lakehouse to finish up the cleaning.  My day did not go that way at all.  Best laid plans, right?

Instead, I had the pleasure of having Miss Mads today (her babysitter was sick), was on for MOST of the conference call, had lunch with a friend for her birthday, met friends at the casino and just now am getting to the lakehouse!

I totally broke out the flip flops yesterday and this morning, now it is too cold.  BUMMER!

Jake is going to hold down the fort at home and we will be busy beavers tomorrow.  That is if everything goes according to plan!  I'm not going to hold my breath!

Discussion:  How do you handle plan B, roll with it or get stressed?

Plan B day!

I had a totally plan B day yesterday.  I didn't get much done on my to-do list, but I got to spend the day with one of my favorite people :  Madelyn!

Her babysitter had an emergency and so Nona came to the rescue.  We worked in the office, went to lunch with friends and while she took her nap, I got a few things done.  After she left, Brian and I jumped up and got busy.  Then we went out for pizza.  Came home and took it easy for the rest of the night!  Perfect end to the day!

Brian is really enjoying his new tools.  He's been like a kid in a candy store and I've got some beautiful things to show for it.

I posted the photo of the bowl he made me for Christmas.  I love it!  But he has continued to make more wonderful items all for little ol' me!!

I'm excited because he is now working on something else for me!  I can't wait to see it!

I also got these cute skins for my phone, ipod and kindle.  So fun!

Lovin' them!!!

Today I have a busy day again.  I'm getting ready for the big Beachbody Super Saturday event and then Brian and I are joining friends for dinner and a movie!  We are going to cheat on John Wayne.  I hope it is worth it!

Just because it is the weekend, doesn't mean to lay off your healthy habits.  Get your workout done and eat clean.  If you want to splurge a little, pick one place to splurge and then get back on track at the next meal, snack or drink!  Drink your water :)

Plan B in action!

Yesterday was a total plan B day!  Sometimes those days are fun, sometimes not so much.  This one was a combo for us, but turned out great all the way around.

Brian was going to have a boy's day poker game and I had decided I would lounge around, do some yoga or stretching, watch football and movies and just relax and recharge.  Brian's plans changed, and he wanted to go do something, so off we went.  We headed to Springfield and I got online and found a veg-friendly restaurant we hadn't tried yet.   We went to lunch at The Grotto in Springfield.  I thouroughly enjoyed my meal (chickpea burger and sweet potato fries - photo below!) and then we headed over to Bass Pro.  Bass Pro is every man's dream store.  It has everything in it for hunting, fishing, sports and even has clothes.  Brian loves their jeans and he wanted some new ones.  I even found something that caught my eye.

Thank Goodness it won't be necessary for a while.

We headed home and got ready for the kids to come over for dinner.  We were having a celebration for Nick and Lauren's engagement!  I got the chili going, the kids came in and I was playing with Madelyn, oohing and aahing over Lauren's beautiful ring and talking to the kids and promptly burned dinner. I tried to save it, but it tasted burnt.  So, off to the pizza place we went. DARN THE LUCK!!!

We had a great time and it looks like a crowd when we all get together!

So, it was a plan B day, but all in all it was a good plan!

Yesterday's eats:

I totally deleted my breakfast photo by mistake today before I got them uploaded to the computer, so no photo of breakky!!

1 egg over medium with home fries with squash, mushrooms and onions - YUM!!

LUNCH:  chickpea burger with sweet potato fries

Brian had the BBQ chicken pizza and it was really pretty!

Veggie pizza ( I take my own cheese  - Daiya and they cook it for me!)  I gave Miss Madelyn one of my pieces of pizza. The kids got a buffalo chicken pizza and it was too spicy for her.  Nona to the rescue!

I drank water all day, no snacks and did some stretching before bed, but I turned in early.  I was worn out after the fun weekend we had!

After seeing my eating for the last week, I see that I need to add in more fruit and fresh veggies.  I'm gonna work on that this week!

I usually eat a vegan diet.  Lately I have been having some fish and eggs occasionally. So, I can't really call myself a vegan or a vegetarian.  I think I'll go with a flexitarian!

Discussion:  How do you deal with Plan B days?  Do they stress you out or can you roll with it?
